3 days after Katrina, there was no fuel in my lil backwoods town, no panic.. simply no fuel..

Not looking good..
Its been quite a month here in the south..
Montana is starting to look so good..

So life on this place is always.. something..
Last week it was the fire ants..
This week I had every intention of working on the rose beds until I saw the spiders.. they are not your average.. look its a spider kinda spider.. these buggers are BIG!
mean, fangs.. that look dangerous..
they are brown and gold..
They bite..
Gardeners like me are often unaware of the spiders presence until they drop on your neck.. They bite.. did I
mention that..and then of course you practice.. the oh my God its a spider dance, which amuses the dog, and my hubby if he is home..they are said to not be venomous.. I am
betting they are..
So next week roses maybe..but I am not committing until the Spiders have moved on…

We live in the boondocks in Florida at the end of a dead end road,
where the only traffic we get are friends, family or mail folks.
So Last night in the middle of the night when I heard a noise on our porch,
moments before the low growl in Buddy the dogs throat became a high
and insistent alarm bark. Now you have to understand that here in bf/Florida
noises on the porch are not unusual.. we have been adopted by the entire community squirrels for instance, and TOM, a cat who came with the property.. who may or may not allow you to pet him..depends on his moods..And who has been known to pack company home, without calling ahead..
But this noise didn’t fit into any of the known noise categories..
I woke my husband, gently of course.. no I did not break his ribs with my elbow..
bruised them maybe.
Said get up there’s SOMEONE out there. My husband, spent a great part of his life in the Army..
He is a excellent marksman, and has no sense of humor with intruders. None.
This is his castle, and he is not sharing it.
The individual who knowingly trespassed got a trip to jail,because he refused to do as he was told,
by a very annoyed ex-GI with a loaded rifle in his hands.
He was not harmed.
He was not shot.
He was given every opportunity to leave the way he had come.
I am so impressed with my husband today, he is my hero..
Buddy the watch dog has a sore throat today. He did his job.
