Just Cause

Posted at 7:51 pm under Life, This~n~That

It rained all day today, in This small Town, Florida.
A misty , foggy kind of day, crummy really.
I was up early working ,listening to the rain on the roof.
Tigger was as usual on the back of my office chair, cat snoring into my braided hair.
Bubba the dog curled up at my feet, content.
It is simply amazing how much you can hear in the still of the night.
I was delighted with the rhythm of peace I felt.
No particular reason. Happy.
Funny how as we get older we feel that we have to have a reason for what we feel.
Remember when you were a kid, looking at what your gonna grow up to be?
And some auntie or uncle or teacher would say, why?
Cause you’d answer.
The silliest reason in the world.
Cause you dreamed of it.
To many of our friends today feel overwhelmed, defeated, beaten down, somewhere the joy was lost.
Their focus is on money, not family, not friends, not even self.
No life is perfect, but I have dreams and today that’s enough.
I remember to make room in my life for those small joys, and to practice the random acts of kindness that keep me grinning and take strangers by suprise.
Without a dream the people perish!
Your dreams are a way of setting your personal agenda.
Don’t let someone steal it away, embrace it, make it happen.
Actually there is a point to this, I read Brad Respess’s blog post on 100 bloggers today, and pondered it.
The post was called Don’t grow up to be a loser.
And refreshingly enough it was an honest piece.
Worth reading, and pondering.

I chose to make my dreams happen, I have joy, and today I played in the mud puddles and I laughed.
Cause.

I apologize that I didn’t pick up on this earlier. The way you worded this is refreshing and brought a nice smile this morning. Although they may not be the same now that we’re “grown up”, I hope to always play “in the mud puddles”.
