The Alito Witch Hunt Continues

The Samuel Alito confirmation hearing continues.
It has become a mantra of condescension and no holds barred meanness.
I wonder these people can look in a mirror, or sleep at night.

In such elevated company.. like the esteemed liberal bigot
Ted Kennedy who has somehow risen about the facts, stayed out of jail, twisting and
distorting TRUTH, to besmirch and smear
the reputation of a good and just man. Who calmly and with humility
allows the collective absurd indignities to go on.

Where does it stop? How many American’s will be willing to sit thru what has patently escalated
since the Clarence Thomas and Bork hearings.
Frankly it would have delighted me if, Mr. Alito seeing his wife, Martha-Ann Bomgardner’s distress didn’t offer to knock a few of these liberal idiots in the head.
As my friend Angie say’s, sometimes you just have to get hold of their attention.
Rattle it, so to speak.

Isn’t it interesting that the very people sworn to uphold the constitution
of the United States , elected by the.. common people can act with impunity
under the guise of the search for truth.
I was relieved that Senator Lindsay Graham apologized to Alito and his family for the ridiculous and abusive behavior of Senate Democrats.
He at least had the decency to acknowledge the witch hunt had
crossed the line.

It may interest you to know that a senior Republican senator yesterday said that Mrs. Alito was crying due to migrane. Of course, I don’t begrudge her some tears; but let’s be realistic: this is a Senate confirmation hearing. Tough questions are part of that process, and the woman is the wife of an appellate judge. She should be used to it, by now.

So spare me the victimization and martyring. There’s plenty to cry about in America today, but serious questions aren’t among them.

Your empathy must be the result of
    having been publicly humiliated?

Anne, serious questions would be good. Too bad so few have been asked. In 4000 court decisions by the 3rd circuit the “esteemed Senators” have asked about 2, the 1 (of 3) abortion decisions that Alito disented on upholding part of Roe, and the Vanguard one, which every ethicist (even the one hired by Ted Kennedy) stated is a non issue.

Instead, as Schumer made clear in a interview yesterday, these are “election year questions”.
