Outrage and Feminist’s
The Florida Masochist, asked where is the outrage? Over what now I wondered as I scanned the blog.
I found a post that made me, want to yell, then weep.
Women’s rights I will defend forever, I was raised to be ” independent ” by my father, when that was a very unpopular stance. As a adult woman of nearly 50, I find myself impatient with rightwing feminists, who feel they can call you down if you don’t happen to agree with their views. Their rhetoric gives me a headache.
I snicker at friends who are so assured they are the leadingedgefeminists.
Sorry its true. I will never ever be classified as a “Feminist”. I am however a woman, and a mother, a grandmother and last but certainly not least a wife.
So when I read about the basic human rights of a (let’s face it ) girl child being abrogated at this level, my blood boils, and then as I continue to read about other atrocities that have happened along these same lines
I am incensed.
This from
The court, however, issued on Tuesday a sentence for Nazanin to be hanged to death.
Last week, a court in the city of Rasht, northern Iran, sentenced Delara Darabi to death by hanging charged with murder when she was 17 years old. Darabi has denied the charges.
In August 2004, Iran’s Islamic penal system sentenced a 16-year-old girl, Atefeh Rajabi, to death after a sham trial, in which she was accused of committing “acts incompatible with chastityâ€.
The teenage victim had no access to a lawyer at any stage and efforts by her family to retain one were to no avail. Atefeh personally defended herself and told the religious judge that he should punish those who force women into adultery, not the victims. She was eventually hanged in public in the northern town of Neka.
So I agree, where is the outrage?
