The Brat Pack

Posted at 12:41 am under Life, This~n~That

My son Jesse is a funny man, with a smart mouth, a beautiful wife Jessica, with a smarter mouth .The j’s as they are called and my sister Kat’s daughters, called “The girls” came and stayed. They have been called the brat pack since they were very small.
They held my hand, drove me around, cheered me on when I discussed with the doctor what I thought of his probable ancestry and medical skills.

They insisted that my mother’s dog be included in the obituary.

The girls and the j’s did a continuous running commentary on speech usages, as in “excellent presentation of the word stupid”, they all swear a lot. I offered duck tape to a couple of them, they declined with thanks.

They are firm believers in comfort food. They gave me chocolate and reminded me of the food groups, Meat and candy. I had forgotten they rewrote the food pyramid.

There was one incidence of mooning; I am not convinced it was accidental.

Between the four of them are 17 years of higher education. I have often questioned the effectiveness of this higher education.

The brat pack has been through a lot, it has made them pretty close.
They were and continue to be irreverent holy terrors. They learned early to cover each others backs. They have supported each other even when the inevitable fighting occurred.

They were at various times, in the “avoidance zone” explained as,” well when reality sucks, why bother”? The medicated zone, and the therapy zone, they all live in the bossy zone.

They called her the Queen mother and it stuck. She loved it, although she never admitted it.
The Queen mother was at her very best, when these beautiful smart mouthed brats were around. She was always evaluating which brats were currently in or out of favor. They ignored that, they were not in the least intimidated by The Queen Mother.

The j’s have been elected to be the keeper of the family treasures, until the girls are ready for them. As always trades will be available.

Forrest Gump’s mother said life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re going to get till you bite into it.

The Queen Mother said; Life is what it is. None of my sisters came.
