Horses Can Dig

Published by pet at 9:06 am under Critters, Florida, Life

The phone rang at just after dawn this morning,it was a neighbor name of Leo telling me, “your pony is in my yard”. After a bit of cursing, and fast dressing off I went to corral the escapee.
fence damage

While John The Master Of The Universe went to discover how this had occurred.

We fenced our property with chain link fence, on the complete delusion idea
that BuddyTheDog would spend allot of time outside, especially if we were gone.

Then BlackJackTheBlackLab came, and so did Hawkins the possessed miniature brat horse cute mini horse. I did not know, and I have raised several hundred horses, that they would dig to go under a fence. I guess the grass on the other side was to tempting.

I have to note that we have acres of grass that have been ignored, alfalfa hay at 15.00 a bale spread out and ignored. Can I say Spoiled brat pony?
escapee

I expect I will be heading to tractor supply for a hotwire fencer, and some smoothwire..

John The Master of The Universe, looked at me with a really serious face and said, anytime I wanted to “get rid of the little brat” ,just to let him know.
Please don’t tempt me so early in the day….
