Merry Christmas from The Stable In Bethlehem

The stable in Bethlehem, South of Jerusalem, smelled sweet with hay.
The low tones of a cow talking to her calf, the nicker of a horse in greeting,
the donkeys braeing, horses munching their hay, the quiet baas of the sheep,
the lowing of the cows.

The child cleansed and wrapped, fed his first meal and laid into a manger to sleep.

In the stable The child, Jesus The Christ. Born to Save The world.
It was the gift we needed most: Spirit made Flesh, Savior for the world, the Holy Son of God,

In the stable the light of The Glory of God surrounding The Christ Child.
The Angelic Choir, singing Hallelujah , Praises to The King.
The promised Messiah. The King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.

In the stable the magi who had followed the star laid before the Christ child,
the gifts. Gold for The king, the bitter perfumes of myrrh, and frankincense.
Gifted at birth with the perfume’s that would anoint him in death.
Think of the power that was present that day, The Glory Of The Lord.
The joy bittersweet.

In the stable, the power Of God manifested in this child born of flesh,
conceived of the Spirit, Born of a virgin.
A gift God freely offered to all who would believe.

In the stable, God loved the world so much that he gave his only son
to us, so that if we would believe, we would have eternal life.
A gift we celebrate at Christmas, Salvation for The World, the Grace and love of God.
